The Character
Name: Taln
Age: Eighteen Turns
Position: Tunnelbeast Handler, Copper
Wing: Say what?
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Dear Faranth no...Just...No...I doubt he even knows what to do
Appearance: His hair is almost a ginger shade of brown, but next to his 'beast you can barely tell the colour anyway, and he spends most of his time leaning against him, a dark spot on light hide. It doesn't so much as frame his face as hang around it, with the whole thing being layered at the top, but with a fairly big chunk in the middle of his fringe, and around the rest of his face. The back is layered much the same, only underneath all that, his hair's been left to grow long, and it tied back in a ponytail. He's left it for so long now, that it's almost at the middle of his back. Give it a few turns and it will be in his lower back. But the face it hangs around would be well defined had it not been for the fact that he looks far too soft for that. There's a thinness to it that shows he's lost all the fat of his younger years, leaving behind a more mature, handsome(ish, still childish though) him. His eyes are as wonderful a colour as his hair - almost orange despite being brown, and warm! So warm, and inviting, and happy, but still the eyes of a child.
Personality: Taln is, well...Taln. He's complicated, yet at the same time, you couldn't really call him that if you were speaking to him. In fact, if you had never met him before, he'd come across as incredibly simple. He's excitable, easily amused, and likely to remember your name and face till he dies as soon as you introduce yourself. He's just...Actually hard to describe, but he's animated, constantly animated. The way he speaks, despite not sounding hyper, is just lively, and so serious! He also sounds serious, yet happy and childish at the same time, like a child trying to be a grown up to make his parents proud. Oh, and Faranth, does he bounce. He can't stand still! He's constantly moving, whther it's on the spot or walking in circles. Even if he's sitting down, a foot will be tapping constantly.
But he does it all in a...quiet sort of way, like an interested little child. All wide eyes and sollem features, it's hard not to take him at least a little seriously. He thinks a lot as well, though most of it hardly what you'd call philosophical. The majority of it is him simply thinking far too deeply about things he's already thought about, or things he's already said, or done. It makes him terrible confused sometimes, and he'll often repeat things until they right in his head. But that doesn't mean they sound right when said, and usually he just makes things worse. While his 'beat may be straight and to the point, he winds his way around things until they get where he wants them to get.
He's not the strong silent type, at all, unlike his bonded. He's...Talkative, to a certain degree, though he will shut up when he has to. His talk is more of a thought process said outloud, and though it's full of ideas, it's never often finished - or at least not properly. Taln offers his ideas wherever he thinks they'll be heard, or allowd to be heard. Thought more often then not it's just a rambling in his head that only Reguln can hear. As for the strong...He more or less relies on the Copper to intimidate people enough so that they don't hassle him too much. He's not all that strong to be honest, more worried about making sure that everyone else is okay, even if that means following the roders barked at him, before he thinks of himself. Which could have made him a good 'second if he'd ever Impressed to a dragon...Which he hasn't, so it hardly matters. But he's good at picking up the pieces and appeasing people.
History: Taln started life as a Holder, then managed to get promoted to a Apprentice of a craft at twelve: Minecraft. Only he got chucked out of there after half a Turn so he ended up being demoted again. His parents were furious, especially his mother. He had - has - a strange relationship with his mother. She's his mother, and he loves her for it, as she loves him in her own way for being his son; but at the same time she was incharge of the entire household, and more like a landlady and a boss at the same time then any sort of mother. She kept him in line as well as her other six children - all of varying ages, with the oldest being sixteen while he was twelve, and the youngest being half a turn - but never paid special attention to him. She needed the men to bring in the money, so she sent him off to another craft hall, this time when he was thirteen and 'nearly a man, so he needed to learn how to act like it' or something similar.
He was a candidate - which could mean the Weyr needed everyone they could get their hands on - but that obviously didn't work out quite as well as it was supposed to. His mother wanted to become the pride of the fmaily, a man worth having around, and hopefully the Weyr would teach him the latter half. The former half would come with a Bronze or Brown dragon - no Greens or Blues for her family. But then again, perhaps she'd think a BLue was better then one of the things he's Impressed to. Not that he's told her he's Impressed. He'll wait until the Tunnelbeast has grown a little bigger...Just a little...Maybe when he's fully grown.
Coper Tunnelbeast Reguln
Name: Reguln
Age: 0 Turns
Colour: Copper
Speech Code: C73F17
Name: Reguln
Age: 0 Turns
Colour: Copper
Speech Code: C73F17
Appearance: Reguln is undeniably the largest tunnelbeast that the Weyr will ever see. He'll grow to be the size of a small Bronze, and will be simply humongous when he reaches his full height. Muscle bunched over muscle, wrapped up in copper hide, is the best way to describe him. However, that doesn't mean he bulges. No, Reguln very much a snake in appearance (except for the head, which is more dragon like, and blocky, and instead of scales having hide) with a smooth body. He's very pleasantly coloured and almost shockingly shiny, and his markings of a darker clay-coloured hue are square-shaped spirals that slither along his hide in a rather enchanting manner.
Personality: Quick and to the point, Reguln may seem stupid because he never speaks, but he's really the strong and silent type. He's impossible to move to rage, and he will defend anybody that he sees needing it. Reguln hates nothing more than bullies, as they are a lower class in his mind, scum to be ground beneath his coils into the dirt. He's extremely defensive and protective, and almost fanatically loyal as well. Reguln is not one to engage in lofty conversations or the like; he's down to earth, plain, and simple in both speech and thought.
Mindvoice: Though like as not you won't hear it because he rarely voices his thoughts, Reguln has a deep, gravelly voice that fits him surprisingly well. It's earth-shaking and can easily be turned into a roar that would have even Gorheilith trembling from the sheer terror of it. That's not to say he'd ever do that, though--he's far too patient.
