Shattered
Username: SOCR
Character Number: Two, three if you count Alyectan before this.
The Character
Name: Abnihleth
Color: Green
Gender: Female
Appearance Abnihleth isn't that much larger than most other greens, just barely the size of a small Blue. Most of her growth was completed before her bond was split. She appears like a thin forest, dappled with sunlight. A light green body is accented by small streaks of a yellow-green.
Personality: Since she had not absorbed her rider's mind for the emotional stability it granted, Abnihleth is prone to sudden, unreasonable mood swings. At times she can be quiet and passive, then she could be cheerful and giddy, then she could be terribly depressed or have the shortest fuse on Pern. Her core nature, the small overlap that doesn't change between her polar personalities, is one of respect and caring towards any other dragon, Shattered or no. She is caught in a lull between them, the proper Dragons wont have her and the Shattered despise her for wishing to stay with the Weyr. She remains a neutral party to both.
Mindvoice: For someone with such a shaky mental disposition, Abnihleth has a strong and sure voice. When she does speak she is careful with what she says and makes absolute sure it is what she means. Her voice is strong and clear, and pure of timbre with high pitch.
History: Abnihleth is unique in that she didn't Shatter out of any negative emotion, and her rider did not die. During flight, a rider severely injured her bonded, Parmellay, bashing her head against a wall. Parmellay fell into a week-long coma. Distressed over the sudden dulling of her mental bond, angry at the violent rider, saddened by her rider's loss and still within the grips of Flightlust, Abnihleth's bond deteriorated rapidly without the contact. She allowed herself to be caught by the offending rider's dragon and turned on it, killing it and going between to escape the immediate vicinity. Abnihleth took nearly three days to organize her thoughts and take control of her individual emotions and identity her tragedy had granted her. Not knowing what being Shattered was, or that they were seen as enemies to the Weyr, Abnihleth returned and believing her rider to be dead, as the dragons of the Weyr knew her rider to be alive and did not know of the Shattering, attempted to re-integrate herself into the environment. Several days later, when her rider awoke emotionally distraught and believing her dragon to be dead, only then was Abnihleth ferret out as a Shattered, and instead of fleeing, decided to stay out of loyalty and plead for her life. Abnihleth was cast out but not appropriately exiled, still allowed on Weyr territory and not viewed with malice, but no longer to be a part of the Weyr's functions. Parmellay later died of her injuries, unrelated to the Shattering.
